Dr. Xuqing Wu is an Associate Professor of Computer Information Systems at the University of Houston and a faculty member of the MODAL Lab. In the NSF ExLENT program, he helps lead experiential training that integrates AI, geoscience, and mineral processing.
CO-PI: Dr. Jiefu Chen, Ph.D.
Dr. Jiefu Chen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Houston and a Senior Member of IEEE. In the NSF ExLENT program, he supports hands-on learning through advanced sensing, modeling, and data analytics.
CO-PI: Dr. Jiajia Sun, Ph.D.
Dr. Jiajia Sun is an Associate Professor of Geophysics in the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Houston. In the NSF ExLENT program, he supports experiential training that connects subsurface imaging and monitoring with real-world industry needs.
CO-PI: Dr. Yan Yao, Ph.D.
Dr. Yan Yao is the Hugh Roy and Lillie Cranz Cullen Distinguished Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Houston. As a co-PI on the NSF ExLENT program, he helps connect hands-on learning to critical minerals and next-generation energy storage technologies.
CO-PI: Dr. Yueqin Huang, Ph.D.
Dr. Yueqin Huang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Science & Technology at the University of Houston. As a co-PI on the NSF ExLENT program, she supports hands-on, industry-relevant training at the intersection of AI, data analytics, and the critical minerals workforce.
